Cruise
The cautionary tale. Cruise scaled San Francisco fast, lost its permits after a pedestrian dragging incident and a mishandled disclosure in 2023, and was wound down by GM in December 2024 with the team redirected to driver-assistance for personal cars. Its collapse is the main reason every surviving operator over-communicates safety data.
