Pony.ai
The stack behind Europe's first commercial robotaxi. Pony.ai sells technology to local champions — Verne in Croatia, Stellantis and Bolt in Luxembourg — rather than fighting for its own brand abroad, and in October 2026 added a London test programme with Uber. Like its domestic rivals it is still loss-making: Chinese fleet utilisation runs well below Waymo's.

London United Kingdom
Four operators in one city, and the only European market where a US, a British and two Chinese stack all compete. Every vehicle still carries a TfL-licensed driver, because the UK's driverless passenger permits only opened in May 2026.
